PLATEN LOCK SYSTEM

When the platens are closed and locked, this system
compensates for any variation in tool height. No shims are
required to seal tools with a minimal height variance.

Vacuum Formers |
The ZED 300 Series, automatic, inline thermoformers are
designed for high volume production of blisters, trays and
other plastic parts. They feature a precision film indexing
system, multiple index length pre-heater, hydraulic die cutter
(except on 300-40) and are available with numerous options
allowing you to choose the exact machine to best meet your
application requirements.
The following models are in the 300 Series:
300-40 : automatic,
roll-fed vacuum former (no die cutter) with a positive stop, hitchfeed film conveyor system. Available in different sizes, including 17" x 21", 25" x 25" and 25" x 30".
300-50 : automatic,
roll-fed vacuum former, hydraulic die-cut and stack system.
Features precision film indexing system, three
index length pre-heater, high tonnage trim press and is
available in the following sizes: 25" x 25", 25" x 30" and 30"
x 36".
300-70 : automatic
roll-fed, radiant heat, pressure form and trim-on-the-mold
system designed for high volume production of blisters, trays, bowls, lids and other plastic products
requiring precise trimming. Available sizes include 25 x25"
and 25"x30". |

Model 196 Contact Heat
Pressure Former: Contact heat pressure
forming is ideal for oriented materials such as OPS
and materials with high shrink characteristics. This
high-speed machine is also equipped with
trim-on-the-mold characteristics. A consolidated
design minimizes floor space and produces an accurate
trim to part tolerance. Additional options may include
pre-heat stations, finished part stacking, automatic
parts unloader and scrap rewind system. |

SF SERIES:
Servo
driven platens provide speeds in excess of 55 cycles
per minute. This mechanism can be incorporated into
conventional form/trim and stack thermoformers or
utilized as a stand-alone thermoformer designed for
overhead treadle and horizontal punch-n-die tooling.
The solid steel platens and 4-post press design
provides full tooling support and reliability for 24/7
operation. This machine is available in a variety of
sizes and index lengths. |

Heavy Gauge |
| Model HG
Heavy Gauge Thermoformer: This cut sheet
thermoformer is manufactured for single sided use or
can be upgraded to incorporate a double-sided form
station for increased productivity. Ideally suited for
heavy gauge films, the HG comes standard with an
adjustable clamp frame for small short run jobs as
well. Known for its heavy construction and precision
platen guide system, this machine is a favorite for a
demanding work environment. |

FST SERIES - Inline
Form/Fill/Seal Thermoformer: The
form/fill/seal machines provide both automation and
flexibility for packaging operations. Available in a
variety of sizes, the FST can be further automated by
incorporating product feeders, labelers, printers,
etc. A variety of seal materials such as medical
foils, lid stocks, Tyvek and even clamshell packages
can be manufactured on the FST Series |

Speed |
|
HIGH SPEED THERMOFORMERS:
Zed Introduced the "fastest thermoformer in the world"
at the NPE June 2003 show. Zed has made inline
thermoformers cycling at speeds in excess of 60 cycles
per minute. These can be large, wide web machines up
to 60" in width or custom built small machines
requiring less floor space and reduced tooling costs.
Servo driven platens provide precise positioning and
deceleration features for stable operation. |

CUSTOM ENGINEERED
THERMOFORMERS: Over 60% of our floor space
is dedicated to custom-built thermoforming systems.
Machines with index lengths up to 100" and widths up
to 60" are available as well as small format machines
with a form areas as small as 5"x7". Inline automation
features such as printing, labeling, vision and other
integrated systems can be provided for a complete
turnkey system. |

Zed Industries manufactures thermoform tooling in a variety of
formats. These include precision CNC machined solid aluminum
molds, cast aluminum molds with stainless steel cooling lines,
machined aluminum individual molds, cast epoxy prototypes.
Plug and grid assists are available in aluminum, heated
aluminum, wood, syntactic foam and cast materials. Aluminum
pressure boxes incorporate pressure release valves, adjustable
sidewalls with various depths to ensure flexibility and quick
changeovers. |
